Sonyericsson Rachael with custom build Android UI
After HTC has presented its new, custom build, Android UI, the HTC Sense, now leaks are poppling up of the Sonyericsson build Android. The UI doesn’t have a name yet, but was demoed on the, to be revealed, SE Rachael (codename). This UI does look very slick and has the same sort of Social integration as the HTC Sense.
The Danish site Mobil, does have some pictures of this new handset (below), which seems to be part of the Xperia family. So it seems that the lonely Xperia X1, will get a big brother.

The SE Rachael will get all the usual specs other Androidphones have, along with a 4″ touchscreen 8.1 MP camera and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for all the fluid, 3D/HD video stuff. Big question with this handset is if it will break the HVGA resolution which is almost needed with the big 4″ screen.
With yet another custom made UI for Android (and more to come), the question arise if these manufacturer based builds UI will make Android stronger or more fragmented. If it will be the last and customers do not know anymore they are using Android, this can be a problem for competing with other platforms, especially, of course with the Palm Pre and the Apple iPhone.
